This fine example of an ENGLISH BLUE & WHITE TRANSFER PRINTED POTTERY SERVING PLATE bears the IMPRESSED MARK for JOHN ROGERS & SON (1815-1842) of DALE HALL, LONGPORT, BURSLEM, STAFFORDSHIRE and the PATTERN NAME 'ATHENS'.

Set within a border of flowers and scrolls, the crisp, clear transfer print shows CLASSICAL RUINS in a pastoral scene.

There are no cracks or restoration just a few old, minor nicks to the edge, as can be seen in the photographs.

A stunningly beautiful SERVING PLATE, dating from around 1840, which exudes a vibrant freshness.
