A good Royal Worcester porcelain CANDLE-SNUFFER: "Confidence" depicting the famous Jenny Lind. Date coded for 1905. 4.25ins (10.8cms) high.

***Jenny Lind (born Stockholm 1820 ~ died Malvern 1887) was a most famous 19th century soprano opera singer, often known as the "Swedish Nightingale". In 1852 she undertook a long tour of the United States; tickets for her performances were in such demand that they were sold by auction. She made a great deal of money and donated most of her profits to her favourite charities, principally the endowment of Free Schools in her native Sweden.
