Japanese Meiji Period Kutani Model of a Cockatiel on a Tree Stump

1900 - 1920
Description

As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this unusual Kutani model of a Cockatiel standing upon a section of tree stump, the birds feathers finely enamelled in gilt and brown with striking yellow, blue and turquoise tail feathers, his beak gilded and his eyes picked out in realistic detail , the tree stump is nicely finished in a heavy treacle brown enamel with aqua blue and black detailing, the underside finished unglazed .

The condition is immaculate !!
