For sale this very fine Japanese Arita underglaze blue and white shallow octagonal petalled rim dish dating to the last quarter 17th century. Painted to the well of the dish with two scholars within a landscape. The reverse decorated with scrolling foliage. The base with 6-character Ming mark. The dish is 20.8cm in diameter and 3.5cm deep. No damage, chips, or hairlines. Very slight glaze wear only within the well of the dish.
