For sale is this fine unsigned English flower and verse decorated mug, assigned to the Rev C J Atherton, dating to the second half of the 19th century. The mug is in undamaged and unrestored condition and stands approx. 10cm tall with a diameter of approx. 10.5cm excluding the handle. The fine gilt verse reads ''Rev C J Atherton, Long may you live, Happy may you be, Blest with contentment, And from misfortune free ''. This must be a great find to anyone related to the late Rev C J Atherton.
