Lowestoft Porcelain Coffe Cup 'Curtis' C1785

Description

A charming Lowestoft porcelain coffee cup, circular form with strap handle. Decorated with delicate floral design closely associated with Thomas Curtis.

Thomas Curtis was a known Lowestoft decorator firmly associated with Chinese style floral designs (Godden pg 152)

Examples of his work can be seen in Geoffrey Goddens Lowestoft Porcelain Ed 2.

*cm tall there are some minor frets to the foot of the coffee cup and a flake to the handle. Kiln smuts within the glaze from the original firing process.
