This charming PAIR OF ANTIQUE STAFFORDSHIRE PORCELAIN FIGURES of TAM O'SHANTER and SOUTER JOHNNIE date from circa 1840.

The figures, standing on gilt-lined rectangular bases and measuring just 9 cm high, were based on two famous characters from a Burns poem about the drinking classes in Scotland in the 17th Century.

They display beautifully.
