Rare Chinese Blue and White 12 Sided Dish, Four Character Mark Kangxi and of the Period

Description

For sale is this very fine Chinese blue and white 12 sided dish, the base with the rare 4 character mark of Kangxi and of the period. The dish is approx 28.5cm in diameter and approx 3.5cm tall. The dish is finely decorated with the standard Kangxi design and of the vibrant under glaze blue that is found within that period. The underside is also very unusual because it is carved with a further geometric design. The inner wall of the foot rim tinged with the Kangxi and early 18th century pale brown firing to the foot wall that is common to the period of manufacture. There is some standard rim fritting and some small chips with one hairline approx 4.5cm long from the rim.
