Creamware Chestnut Basket

A charming eighteenth century creamware pierced basket. The piece is finely potted and made with lovely twig handles. The basket is deorated in quite simple neoclassical fashion with brown enamels and a husk design. The basket is in excellent condition just a very minor glaze chip and rubbing to enamel on rim. These creamware basskets were said to be for chestnuts and made by various factories thiss piece is unmarked. C.1790.
