Very Rare Scottish Wemyss Ware Quaich. Strawberries.

1900 - 1920
Description

VERY RARE early 1900's Scottish Wemyss ware low quaich. The inside decorated with strawberries on a black background in the centre with fishscale decoration on a graduated yellow ground to the top on both the inside and outside.

This is a rare design piece of Wemyss ware as very few of these large quaich's survived. On top of that the decoration is also rare.

One handle has been expertly restored otherwise perfect.

SIZE; 7 1/2" diameter. 2 1/2" high
