In Feng Shui, the lions are a manifestation of 'Yin' and 'Yang ', the ball under the male paw representing the circle of life. The male providing protection for the structure of the building , whilst the female protects the occupants of the Temple. Well-modelled copies of early Chinese ornamental mythical Temple guardian lion-dogs with fierce expressions. Good scale with subdued colours, some minor losses to the glaze. No breaks or repairs, minor chips to base.
