On offer is this fine 17th century Japanese lobed dish decorated in underglaze blue and white, the blue of deep tones, depicting two scholars in a garden landscape. The reverse with Chinese six character mark, Chenghua. One small chip to a lobed section on the reverse side, not visable from the front. Diameter 21cm by 3.7cm tall. A very fine early blue and white dish from Japan.
