Very Large Pair of Victorian Staffordshire White & Gilt Dogs Circa 1860

Description

Standing a magnificent 15.5 inches (39.5 cm) high, this PAIR of VICTORIAN STAFFORDSHIRE WHITE & GILT DOGS date from circa 1860.

The feathering on their coats is well-defined and their faces are charming.

The condition is good. There is some minor rubbing to the glaze and a small chip to the back of one of the Dogs which is shown in the photograph. The seam line, which occured during the firing, down the side of one of the Dogs has been overpainted during its lifetime. This is quite stable.

There is no restoration.

A very impressive PAIR OF VICTORIAN STAFFORDSHIRE DOGS that display beautifully.
