A charming Georgian hand-painted pearlware teapot. The teapot of typical globular form with elegant spout and handle, and pagoda shaped lid, is very finely potted. The decoration of floral bunches in famille rose colours is repeated front and back. This is the most charming piece of early English pottery, and has survived in good condition the only damage is a chip to the inside rim of the pot, as shown in photo. Staffs, C.1780.
