Lee Sherman Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
Crafted from fine hard-paste porcelain and expertly hand-painted, each pug features attractive brown and black markings, pink collars, and gilt bells, creating a wonderfully characterful display.

Produced during the early 20th century, both figures bear the blue underglaze intertwined SP monogram for the renowned Sächsische Porzellan-Manufaktur (Carl Thieme, Potschappel, Dresden), a mark used from 1901 onwards. The male figure is marked on the rear right side, while the female carries the mark on the rear left side.

Wonderfully expressive and full of charm, these attractive porcelain pugs are highly sought after by collectors of Dresden porcelain, dog figures, and fine decorative ceramics. They display beautifully together and would make a superb addition to any collection or interior.
