Ritas Bazaar has dated this Samson Porcelain Footed Bowl to the 19th Century.

The exterior is arranged with oval flower panels framed by scrolling gilded foliage, above a carefully executed gilt brickwork border. The interior is centred by a floral bouquet and surrounded by smaller flower sprays, providing decoration across the entire surface.

Samson established a reputation for producing sophisticated interpretations of celebrated European porcelains. Their Chelsea and Derby-inspired wares were among the most successful creations of the workshop, often displaying a level of workmanship that led collectors to mistake them for much earlier originals.

The scale, colour and quality of decoration make this bowl particularly effective as a cabinet piece or centrepiece. Examples of this size are encountered less frequently than smaller decorative bowls and have strong collector appeal.
