Description

A fine and large Derby Porcelain Coffee Can decorated by George Robertson c.1797-1800. Finely painted with the scene of a naval battle titled ‘an Engagement', within a rich gilded border and reserved on a green ground. This scene was inspired by the Anglo-Dutch wars, the fourth and last of which took place between 1780 and 1784.

Crown, crossed batons and letter D mark to the base along with title.
