Royal Crown Derby porcelain kettle, dated 1885. The oval, lightly lobed kettle, printed and painted in Imari colours, with shaped panels of birds in trees, and flowering plants, on a larger ground of flowering branches. Having a short spout decorated with gilt scrollwork, and an overhead handle, with blue and gilt banding.
The oval cover, similarly decorated in the Imari style, and surmounted by a gilt edged finial.
Iron red printed factory mark, with date code for 1885. Painted pattern number 198, to both the teapot, and cover.
Length – 24 cm, 9 1/2”.
Height – 18 cm, 7 1/8”.
Width – 12 cm, 4 3/4”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
