Chinese Export Porcelain Tea Cups And Saucer. Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period. 1736 - 1795.
£575 $787 €661
Matching Chinese Export porcelain Tea Cups (x2) and Saucer (x1). Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period. 1736 - 1795.
Both cups match the saucer in different and complementary ways. Masterfully painted in vibrant famille rose enamels. Exhibiting fine and superior-quality narrative painted scenes. Depicting family life, mandarin officials, scholars, and cartouches with finely painted buildings and birds. The attention to detail in the colourful clothing and formal costumes is superb. The visual storytelling portraying themes of education, wisdom, and hierarchy in Qing society, amidst virtues of every-day life.
The gilded rococo-style scrolling borders and diaper decoration framing the figural panels are finely executed with rich gold accents, adding a luxurious touch typical of imperial-quality famille rose porcelain. The superior quality of enameling, delicate brushwork, and gilded detailing suggests these teacups and saucer were possibly produced in the prestigious Jingdezhen ki...lns for high-ranking officials or the export market catering to European aristocrats. These examples demonstrate artistic refinement closer to Yongzheng-period famille rose pieces. Superb.
