Japanese Meiji period Satsuma bowl with original box, circa 1900
The five lobed bowl finely painted in enamels and gilt with a probable royal procession, running through a Fujiyama landscape, comprising of running samurai banner carriers carrying golden boxes, a multitude of attendees and at the rear in the far distance a tiny palanquin with two faces looking out.
The outside with four shaped vignettes of seated figures
The bowl in excellent condition with no damage, repair or wear
Diameter 4,3/8'' or 110mm weight 161 grams
The silk lined fitted box good and sound but with losses to the black paper covering.
