Description

This SET OF NINE ARTS AND CRAFTS TILES, mounted in a custom-made wooden frame, were made by MAW & Co, Shropshire, as part of their TRADES SERIES, a popular subject in the ARTS AND CRAFTS period.

The letters, that form the names of the TRADES depicted, make up the four corners of each TILE.

These are: MASON, FOUNDER, COOPER, SHIPWRIGHT, SAWYER, TAILOR, NAVVY, PAINTER and SMITH

There is a chip to the top right corner of the SMITH TILE which is the last one on the right in the photograph. Other than that, the TILES and FRAME are in good condition and ready to be fixed to the wall.
