Early 19th Century Chinese Porcelain Teapot and Cup in Wicker Carry Case.

Description

Early 19th century Chinese porcelain tall teapot with cover and cup, contained in the original wicker travelling case.

The famille verte decoration of the teapot is beautifully augmented with people, insects, flowers and birds. The cup has scenes of people and landscapes. The cup is possibly older than the teapot.

The pieces are contained in the original wicker travelling case with padded lining, and metal handles and lock.

Size-teapot-6.5 inches high by 7 inches wide including spout, by 5 inches diameter. Cup-2 3/8 inches high by 3 3/8 inches wide with handle by 2 3/8 inches diameter.

Weight-2 kilos.

The teapot has a chip to the neck, while the cover has some chips underneath. The cup has some wear to the edge.

A nice set for the collector, or for display.

In good condition overall.
