Exhibit Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Two Scottish pottery storage barrel jars dating to c1890. They are beutifully glazed in mottled greens, blues, and browns. Both have there original lids with ribbing to the top and bottom of the barrels. One has RICE and one has SUGAR.
They are in truily superb condition with no damade, which is very unsual for kitchen ware from this period.
