Tiny French Confit Pot

This is a 19th century French confit pot, in a rare very small size and traditional mustard glaze. Only 14 cm high.
 
Confit pots were used for preserving food in the 19th century, mainly meats, such as duck, in fat. The pots were stored in cold larder or buried in the ground up to the glaze line.
 
This tiny one is a little gem!
