Description

A fine Seth or John Pennington porcelain tea bowl and saucer well painted in polychrome enamels in the oriental style with the "Smoker's Valet" pattern c.1775-1780.

The bowl measures 8.4cm (3 5/16") wide and 4.9cm (1 15/16") high. The saucer measures 13.5cm (5 5/16") wide and 3cm (1 3/16") high.

In excellent condition: there is a fleabite nick to the rim of the bowl but no other issues and minimal handling wear, only a tiny amount of rubbing to the bottom of the green robes on the saucer and the orange enamel just below and a little to the border inside the rim of the bowl.
