Large Spode Blue & White Tower Pattern Tureen C1820

Description

This striking ENGLISH SPODE BLUE & WHITE POTTERY TUREEN, in the TOWER PATTERN, dates from circa 1820.

Both the Tureen and Cover bear the impressed Spode mark

The TOWER PATTERN was based on an engraving of The Bridge of Salaro.

The condition is good with no restoration. There is an undeveloped chip on the rim of the base (please see photograph). This is quite stable and not seen when the lid is in place.
