Not often encountered, this version is not illustrated by Harding, { Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835 - 1875 }, who remarks however of Figure 970, ''There is another version of this figure { not illustrated } which is similar, except that the backs of the chairs are not showing, the gentleman on the left is wearing a kilt, not breeches, and the title is in gilt script. It is 7.5 inches high. Figure 971 has been reserved for it'' ~ This figure, untitled and differing a little from Harding''s description, being in fact 8.00 inches high and with a bottle rather than a jug on the table, would appear in all likelihood to be that to which he refers.
