An exceptional 19th Century giltwood overmantel mirror of grand proportions, finely hand carved and of stunning quality. The mirror glass plate of shaped, rectangular form is set within a gorgeous moulded and fluted giltwood frame with spiral twist and flowerhead motifs throughout, surmounted with curved architectural pediment with elegant lambs tongue and foliate motif detail, raised over a fabulous pair of stylised ring turned corinthian columns flanking each side featuring scroll, tulip, foliate and fluted detail. Supported on shaped platform base with further beautiful arrangements of richly scrolling acanthus leaves.
