A stunning 19th Century giltwood overmantle mirror of grand proportions, finely hand carved and of exceptional quality. The mirror glass plate of rectangular form is set within a gorgeous moulded and fluted giltwood frame with decorative foliate and ruffle motifs to the shaped top corner returns. Surmounted with an inverted breakfront overhanging stepped cornice with decorative lambs tongue detail above a fabulous pair of fluted ring turned and panelled columns flanking the sides featuring acanthus leaves and foliate detail. Supported on shaped platform base with ebonised border detail and a further pair of beautiful arrangements of beaded row, greek key and foliate to the sides.
