Windsor chairs originated in England during the early 18th century, developing from vernacular furniture traditions where spindles were inserted directly into a solid sculpted seat.

Authentic chairs typically feature a combination of native timbers such as yew, elm, and ash, utilizing pegged joints, steam-bent components, and a saddle-shaped solid wood seat.

Authenticity is assessed by examining tool marks, timber shrinkage, construction wear patterns, traditional joinery, and the distinct grain characteristics of period hardwoods.

Pair the wooden chair with modern minimalist dining tables or use it as a standalone accent piece in a study to create an intentional contrast of periods.

Maintain timber furniture by keeping it away from direct heat sources and sunlight, applying traditional beeswax periodically to nourish the wood and protect the finish.
