Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A cheval mirror, derived from the French word for horse due to its four-legged frame structure, is a full-length dressing mirror mounted on dual vertical uprights with a pivot mechanism that allows the angle of reflection to be adjusted.

19th-century cheval mirrors were typically constructed from solid hardwoods such as mahogany, rosewood, or walnut, often decorated with flame veneers, brass casters, and silvered glass plates.

Authentic William IV pieces from the 1830s display substantial classical proportions, flame mahogany veneers, scroll-carved feet or supports, reeded upright columns, and period brass swivelling bolts.

Position an antique cheval mirror in a dressing room, bedroom corner, or spacious landing to introduce timber tones, reflect light, and provide a functional full-length view without mounting to a wall.

Dust the wooden framework using a dry microfibre cloth and apply beeswax polish periodically along the grain, while cleaning glass plates by spraying solution onto a cloth rather than directly near the timber boundary.
