Description

An impressive Empire style mahogany armchair with finely detailed gilt brass mounts. The upholstered scroll back is framed by mahogany uprights decorated with classical anthemion mounts and rosette terminals.

The sweeping arms are supported by sculptural winged sphinx figures, while the front legs feature winged lion masks above tapered supports terminating in paw feet. Further gilt brass rosettes and foliate mounts decorate the seat rail.

Upholstered in an elegant cream damask fabric woven with lyres, laurel wreaths and classical motifs, finished with matching braid.
