This Georgian Windsor armchair dates from around 1800 and is constructed from fruitwood and elm. The stick back design incorporates a continuous bentwood hoop supporting numerous vertical spindles, while the arms sweep outwards on turned supports above a deeply contoured saddle seat. The timber displays a rich warm brown colour with pronounced grain patterns across the seat surface and the frame shows the typical gentle wear expected from antique country furniture.
