A superb late Victorian solid walnut revolving desk chair, dating to circa 1900.
Beautifully crafted from richly figured walnut, the chair features a shaped horseshoe back with spindle gallery, shaped arms, and a generously proportioned dished seat mounted on a smooth revolving mechanism.
The substantial base stands on elegant cabriole legs united by a decorative cross stretcher, terminating in castors.
Of particularly heavy and robust construction, this is a quality chair designed for both comfort and longevity.
Retaining a brass presentation plaque to the back engraved:
''William Wood Leuchars from his Mother, 8th November 1900.''
Presented in excellent condition with a wonderful colour and patina throughout, this is a highly decorative and practical antique desk chair, ideal for a study, office, or library.
