Imposing large antique French gilt leaner mirror.

It dates from the early 1800s.

It has its very substantial real gilt (gold leaf) on gesso frame including its huge ornate crest and side scrolls with no chips.

It has its lovely mercury glass with gorgeous foxing. Mercury glass was not made after 1840 and is the glass used in all the Palace of Versailles mirrors. It gives a sparkle and reflection like no other.

It would make a wonderful free standing mirror in a living room or bedroom or an incredible overmantel above a large fireplace.
