Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This pair of late Victorian wing back arm chairs is upholstered in natural cream linen with piped edges and stands on carved dark timber front legs. Each substantial chair measures 109 cm high, 81.5 cm wide, and 80 cm deep, with a seat height of 48 cm, enclosing a generous deep sprung seat between rolled arms and a winged backrest. The mahogany cabriole front legs terminate in claw and ball feet, complemented by splayed legs to the rear. Suitable for use in a living room, study, or traditional drawing room, these armchairs provide comfortable seating while adding classic English country house style to an interior. The newly upholstered neutral oatmeal linen covers contrast with the polished mahogany frames and feet, creating a balanced combination of traditional craftsmanship and everyday utility.

Late Victorian wingback chairs feature high padded backs, curved side wings, scrolled arms, and carved timber legs, often reflecting Revival styles popular during the late nineteenth century.

Frames were constructed from solid hardwoods such as mahogany or beech, upholstered using natural fibres and horsehair stuffing, and supported by turned or carved front legs.

Authentic pieces exhibit period frame joinery, natural patination on exposed timber legs, hand-carved details, and traditional corner-braced upholstery frames.

Neutral linen upholstery allows historical wingback silhouettes to integrate into minimalist, modern rustic, or classic English country schemes alongside modern accent tables.

Regular gentle vacuuming with a soft upholstery attachment removes dust, while liquid spills should be blotted immediately with a clean cloth without rubbing fabric fibres.
