A charming Edwardian wingback armchair, dating to the early 20th century, traditionally upholstered in a pink fabric which appears to be shot silk.
The chair features a classic winged back with deep buttoned tufting, shaped scroll arms, and a generous loose seat cushion for comfort. It stands on square tapered legs with original ceramic castors to the front and back, adding both practicality and period charm.
The frame is solid and sturdy, and the chair sits well. The upholstery remains attractive overall; there is sun fading to the left-hand side and some wear to the fabric on the end of this arm, consistent with age and use. This does not detract from the chair’s overall appeal and it remains perfectly usable as is or could be reupholstered if desired.
A graceful and extremely comfortable Edwardian armchair, ideal for a drawing room, bedroom, or reading corner.
