Webberley Antiques has dated these Rush Seat Dining Chairs to the 19th Century.
The back legs continuous to form the back rails and terminating in small pipped roundels. In good condition, the rush to all seats is new apart from one seat which is usable but needs in time to be re-rushed. Two of these chairs have small stable repairs (one to the stretcher and another to one of the bars which has cracked but been glued and clamped) and all is as shown in the photographs.

The set of six with a pair of later oak and ash carvers again in excellent original condition and with rushed seats and shaped bar backs. This pair of carvers date from around 1870 and are very robust with a good colour and very comfortable and work very well in colour and proportion with the set of six standards. These came from a private house in Sussex where the chairs have been for several generations.

Shown here with an elm refectory table which is not included in the sale.
The chairs also come with a set of 8 tie back green cotton seat pads, all in good condition and well padded.
