Description

This Pair Of French Marble Topped Bedside Tables are of a wonderful, elegant design. Their form is full of shape and curved surfaces. A degree of practicality can be found with a useful drawer, generous lower tray, and marble top to each table.

The decorative ormolu mounts work so well with the rich hue of the inlaid wood. The gallery around each top makes sure that things cannot roll off easily.

Presented in excellent restored condition, and being finished all round meaning they can be placed anywhere in a room, these tables would work well in so many areas of the home.

Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

French antique bedside tables frequently feature curved cabriole legs, inlaid veneers such as mahogany or kingwood, and decorative gilt bronze or ormolu mounts reflecting classical design periods.

These pieces are traditionally crafted from hardwood carcasses with exotic veneer overlays, topped with inset marble slabs and adorned with cast brass or bronze galleries and mounts.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail joinery in the drawers, natural patination on the hardware, hand-carved details, and aged marble with appropriate wear patterns rather than uniform modern machining.

Pair these tables with minimalist modern beds or upholstered headboards to create a striking contrast between clean lines and ornate historical craftsmanship.

Dust the wood regularly with a soft, dry cloth and avoid silicone-based polishes. Clean the marble top with a damp cloth and pH-neutral soap, avoiding acidic substances like vinegar or citrus.
