Late C19th matched pair of George III style mahogany library armchairs.
Of slightly varying proportions, a crisply and identically carved pair of mahogany and pale green leather upholstered armchairs .
Serpentine front seats with Vitruvian scroll (''running dog'') carving to seat rails. Shell carving to oval ''cameo'' backs , with leaf carving to arms and frames. Fluted and carved legs , with carved stop-fluted blocks.
The quality mahogany frames have achieved a great rich colour and patination.
No rips to hide with good close-nail upholstery and of strong ,robust construction with no damage.
