A Geo III Tea Caddy With Secret Drawer

£295    $398    €340
A George III (Circa 1790) mahogany three section tea caddy with a SECRET DRAWER. Typical Chippendale canted top design with a brass lifting handle to the lid. Rich mahogany veneer with good grain and patina and an oak carcass. Original moustache brass escutcheon to the original working brass lock. The working IRON KEY is present. Low bracket feet. There are two spots where the veneer has been repaired in the distant past but these are hard to detect and are not noticable at first glance. There is an old stain to the rear (see photo 7).

The secret drawer is revealed by lifting the upward sliding right hand side panel . The drawer has a brass pull allowing it to be drawn out.

The caddy measures 24 cm wide by 16.5 cm tall including the handle and 14 cm deep.

The drawer tray measures INTERNALLY 19.5 long by 10 cm wide and about 1 cm high
