George III ‘partridge Wood’ Tea Caddy

A rare George III Partridge Wood (sometimes called ‘Plum Pudding mahogany’) Tea Caddy, of rectangular canted-corner form, with boxwood stringing and rosewood cross-banding. Some remnants remain of the original lead paper linings.
 
Ivory key escutcheon. (CITES exemption certificate ref: 73ZMLKGD).
 
Dated: c.1780-1800
