This large Victorian wall mirror follows the Louis Philippe style with rounded upper corners and a gold-coloured gilded gesso frame. It is built from giltwood, glass and gesso, showing a beaded inner moulding and aged gilding with an original foxed mirror plate that has characteristic dark spots and distress marks. The piece measures 202 cm high, 132 cm wide, and 7 cm deep. Positioned in a French chateau style interior, the mirror is designed for placement above the mantel in a living room, dining space, or bedroom. It hangs securely on a wall to reflect light and add character to traditional or eclectic decorative schemes.
