The square section legs with a rounded facing edge, united by unusual turned and block stretchers.

These rare and highly desirable pieces of C18th Chinese export furniture were usually made from exotic hardwoods to English designs for the export market. This extraordinary chair has design influences of a George II Irish armchair possibly made under the guidance of an Irish cabinet maker.
