FAQs

Furniture from the 1920s often bridged traditional revival styles and early art deco influences, featuring streamlined forms, figured veneers, and compact proportions suited for smaller spaces.

Makers frequently utilised solid hardwoods such as walnut and mahogany, often incorporating decorative burr walnut or figured veneers on splats and panels alongside upholstered seat pads.

Authentic pieces typically display period construction methods such as traditional joinery, block corners, appropriate hardware, and genuine age-related patination on the timber finish.

These compact chairs work well as occasional seating in a bedroom or living space, providing a contrasting vintage element when paired with clean-lined contemporary furnishings.

Maintain walnut timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft cloth, and occasionally applying appropriate beeswax to nourish the wood.
