This is an antique girandole mirror dating to the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, c.1800.
A super example, this wall mirror is framed in giltwood and gesso, the moulding around the later mirror plate displaying a garland of foliate detail sweeping back to the beaded edge against the wall.
The upper appliqué of swirling foliate branches flank a central rosette beneath scalloped shell crest.
To the bottom of the mirror plate a cherub gazes upwards entwined within the triple stemmed girandole.
A stunning mirror with four mounting lugs, delivered ready to be hung in the home.
