Pair of Antique Cottage Chairs

Description

A wonderful pair of early 18th century antique deal cottage chairs. The antique cottage chairs have geometrically shaped backrests with reupholstered green welsh wool seats (retaining the original horse hair infill). The antique cottage chairs are slightly different in style and dimensions, but still act as a great pair with a nice patina throughout.

DIMENSIONS:

Smallest Chair: Seat Height - 40.5cm / Height – 76cm / Width – 41cm / Depth – 40cm

Tallest Chair: Seat Height - 40.5cm / Height – 79cm / Width – 41cm / Depth – 44cm

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches and dents to the backrests, legs and supports (pictured). There is also splitting of the wood on one chair which doesn’t affect the overall integrity of the item whatsoever. There are also very minor signs of historic woodworm in both chairs, however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. The antique cottage chairs remain structurally solid and sound. Overall, a great pair of 18th century antique chairs.

Our carpenter inspects, repairs, and restores our items, so you can have full confidence that what you buy from us is ready for your home!
