A nice example of an early dressing table or toilet mirror. A George II piece it has a single fitted drawer, a gilt slip, handsome ogee feet and a lovely serpentine drawer. A very nice early mahogany piece in excellent condition.

It typically features a swivelling mirror frame supported by upright posts mounted on a box base containing small drawers for vanity items.

These mirrors were primarily constructed from dense timber such as Cuban mahogany, walnut, or satinwood. The uprights and base often incorporate brass hardware, including finials, handle pulls, and keyhole escutcheons, alongside hand-silvered mercury glass plates.
