This Georgian Revival style armchair follows a traditional wingback design, standing 110 cm high, 76.5 cm wide, and 84 cm deep. The frame employs timber components upholstered in hand dyed chestnut coloured leather, showing a warm brown finish across the surfaces. Visible details include a shaped winged backrest, roll over arms, and a deep button-tufted seat cushion. Brass stud trim edges the upholstery lines around the wings and arms. The lower structure rests on square reeded legs connected by an H-shaped wooden stretcher. Position this armchair in a gentleman's library, study, or living room as a fireside reading seat. The clean wax finish maintains the period character for daily use in a traditional home interior.

Wingback armchairs were developed in late seventeenth-century England to trap heat from open fireplaces and shield the sitter from cold draughts, featuring distinctive winged side panels and high backrests.

Traditional construction incorporates a solid hardwood frame, typically oak or beech, upholstered in full-grain hide leather secured with individual hand-tacked brass studs.

Key features include subtle scroll arms, deep button-tufting or plain back panels, brass close-studding along the perimeter, and straight or cabriole timber legs reinforced with stretchers.

Position the armchair alongside a minimalist floor lamp and a low timber or marble side table to create a balanced reading corner within contemporary or traditional living spaces.

Dust the surface regularly with a clean, soft cloth and apply a dedicated leather balm once or twice a year to maintain flexibility, avoiding placement near direct heat sources or harsh sunlight.
