Antique Victorian Upholstered Armchair

Description

An antique Victorian upholstered armchair, with a shaped and moulded mahogany frame. The chair has a high, curved back with scrolling carved detail to the arms and front legs, retaining its original castors. Upholstered throughout in a patterned yellow woven fabric with buttoned detailing to the back and seat, finished with decorative braid. The frame has a rich, deep colour and attractive figured grain, with the turned and carved elements retaining good definition.

CONDITION REPORT:

The chair is in antique condition, with marks, scratches and areas of wear to the timber frame commensurate with age and use. There is some historic damage and loss to the upper edge of the frame, as pictured, together with further small areas of wear to the finish. The upholstery shows general age-related wear, but overall in good clean condition. The chair remains structurally sound and the castors are present. Please review all accompanying photographs for condition.
